How to Keep Bed Sheets on With a Feather Bed
The luxuriousness of a feather bed loses comfort if the sheets bunch up or won't stay on. To prevent slippage in the future, select sheets sized to fit the thickness the feather bed adds to the mattress. Deep pocket sheets designed for thick mattresses will tuck further under the mattress and stay on. In the meantime, invest in an inexpensive solution to hold the sheets in place on the feather bed. For a few dollars and a few minutes of your time, you can attach the sheets firmly and improve the comfort of the sheets on the feather bed. Does this Spark an idea?

1
Buy sheet suspenders. Department stores carry them in the bedding department or you can order them online.
-
2
Install the sheet suspenders by clipping the suspenders on one corner at a time. With the sheets on the bed, reach beneath a mattress corner at the foot of the bed and pull the sheet fabric towards you. Most sheet suspenders clip in place. Open the clip and get the sheet fabric in the clip's jaws, then close the clip. If it has a garter strap closing---the sort used to hold up nylon stockings---slide the rubber nub part of the clip under the sheet fabric, then place the metal or plastic holder over the nub and slide the holder in the direction of the strap so that it locks in place.

Carry the opposite end of the suspender strap with you to the opposite upper corner or the mattress, pulling the strap under the mattress. It shouldn't be necessary to lift the mattress. The suspenders will form an X under the mattress when they are in place. Repeat on the other two corners with the other sheet suspender.

4
Attach the lower two corners of the top sheet to two other suspenders it needed. You can cross these and attach their other ends to the top corners of the bottom sheet.
-
5
Leave the sheet suspenders in place when you change sheets. Clip the corners of the fresh sheets to hold them.

Tips & Warnings
If your sheets aren't deep enough for the feather bed, you can use a second fitted sheet for the feather bed and make the feather bed up separately from the mattress. This makes the feather bed itself easier to fluff and you can tuck the sheets in under the feather bed far enough to keep them in place--but the feather bed can slide.
