How to Check If My Email Address Is on a Blacklist

If your email is on a black list, it means that it has been blocked by a person or a program. Blacklists are created for personal use and are also created to preserve privacy, so it can be difficult to find out if your email address is on a blacklist. However, there are some things that you can try to see if your email address has been blacklisted.

Instructions

1. Send an email to the account that you feel your email address is on a blacklist for. If it bounces, you know that there is something wrong with the email. You should get a message back saying your email was undeliverable, or that the server timed out, or some other type of message saying your email did not arrive.

2. Send an email to the same account from another email address, even if you have to create a free email like Hotmail or Gmail, to do this. If this email also comes back, it probably means that there is something wrong with the email account. However, if this email does not come back, there is a good chance that the email address you used first is on a blacklist or has been blocked.

3. Contact the person in another way, such as on the phone or in person, to ask them if they have blacklisted you. It might have been an accident, and they can rectify the problem.
