Instructions

  1. How to Troubleshoot an Olympus Digital Camera SP 350

    • 1

Ensure that the batteries are providing power to the camera for quality use. Cameras using AA batteries may require many battery changes, especially if using the movie mode.

    • 2

Turn on the monitor by pushing the display/guide button several times to activate the screen. There is a view finder available that can cause the LCD screen to not display an image until turned on.

    • 3

Use manual focus when the camera is unable to take a clear sharp image. Even with 30 shooting modes, the best image may have to be manually taken by using the M mode with the shooting mode selector.

    • 4

Format new memory cards before initial use to avoid memory loss and any compatibility issues. If the camera shows a card error replace or format the current memory card.

    • 5

Unplug the camera from the computer before trying to take pictures or video. The camera can not be activated for use while plugged into the USB port.

    • 6

Set the camera video output to NTSC when playing back video on U.S. video equipment. If the videos are recorded in PAL format, they will not playback on U.S television sets.

    • 7

Use an additional flash if the pictures are too dark even if the internal flash is working. The camera has a hot shoe which provides for additional low light shooting capabilities. Also ensure the camera is set to a low light shooting mode to ensure the best quality if you are not familiar with the manual shooting settings.

Tips & Warnings

  • A card reader or power adapter will save battery power while downloading photos.

  • The SP 350 can take up to a 1 gig XD memory card.

  • Video can be done in PAL or NTSC format.

  • Use lithium AA batteries for extended use.
