Memory foam is a special kind of material that is used to make mattresses, pillows and other things to provide comfort to the body. Memory foam starts out as a synthetic form of polyurethane foam material and then other chemicals are added until the desired density is acquired. Things You'll Need

  • Mild detergent
  • Water
  • Garden hose
  • Spray bottle
  • White distilled vinegar
  • Large tarp
  • Large drying rack or saw horses

Instructions

    • 1

      Spread out the tarp outside.

      Put the mattress on the tarp.

      Mix 1 part mild detergent with 10 parts water in the spray bottle.

      Spray down the mattress with water from the garden hose using a spray nozzle.

      Spray the mattress thoroughly with the cleaning solution.

      Wait 30 minutes.

    • 7

      Rinse the detergent out of the mattress.

      Mix 1 part vinegar to 10 parts water in the spray bottle.

      Spray the mattress down again.

      Wait 5 minutes.

      Spray the mattress clean with water.

      Fold the mattress in half and press on it to squeeze out as much water as possible. Do not twist or wring the mattress because both could damage the material.

      Set the mattress on a drying rack or saw horses to dry. Return it to the bedroom when it is dry.
