How to Change a Vonage User Name

Vonage's online account access allows you to pay or view your bill, change account details and listen to your Vonage voice mail (not included with all plans). Changing your online Vonage password is a simple procedure which can be completed on the Vonage website. However, changing your online Vonage user name requires a call to Vonage Customer Service. The service is available 24-hours a day, seven days a week. The same procedure is required for retrieving your Vonage user name if you've forgotten it.

Instructions

1. Locate your most recent billing statement. You'll need your account number when speaking with the representative. If you don't have it, don't worry; they should still be able to verify you identity by asking for your social security number or date of birth.

2. Call Vonage Customer Support at 1-866-243-4357 (1-VONAGE-HELP). When you hear the prompt: "Are you calling for home or small business?", speak "Support."

3. Speak your ten-digit Vonage telephone number (including the area code) when prompted, or enter it on your keypad. Hold for a Vonage representative. If you can't remember your Vonage telephone number, speak "I don't know it." (you'll be routed to an agent).

4. Speak to the Vonage representative when he answers the line (you may be on hold for a few minutes). Tell the representative you want to change your online user name and provide the necessary information.
