How to Set a Default Media Player
Media players enable you to play music and videos on your computer. There are many different media players out there including WMP (Windows Media Player), QuickTime and Winamp. When you install a new media player on your computer, it generally becomes the default program for playing audio and video files. As a result, your music and videos launch automatically in the new media player instead of your old program. Windows enables you to change your media player settings, so that you can select the default media player that you want to use to play audio and video files.
