Using a microwave popcorn bowl gives you the option to pop your kernels with or without adding oil or butter. Some popcorn bowls have colorful exteriors which make them ideal for both making and serving your popcorn. Things You'll Need

  • Popcorn bowl with lid
  • 1/3 to ½ cup popcorn kernels
  • Up to 3 tbsp. canola oil (optional)
  • Up to 2 tbsp. butter (optional)
  • Popcorn salt to taste (optional)

Instructions

      Add popcorn kernels and optional oil and butter to the bottom of a popcorn bowl. Use 1/3 cup kernels for up to eight cups of popped corn and ½ cup kernels to make about 12 cups popcorn.

      Cover the bowl with the lid and microwave on high power for 3 to 4 minutes or until the popping slows to about 2 seconds between pops.

      Remove the lid from the bowl immediately (careful, it will be hot and steamy) and sprinkle salt over the popcorn.

      Replace the lid and shake to distribute the salt over the popcorn. Serve while hot.
