How to Replace a Trackball on a BlackBerry Pearl
The trackball on your BlackBerry Pearl helps you navigate in all directions through the screens and menus on your phone. Without the trackball, you have limited control over your BlackBerry Pearl and can't access many of the applications you may frequently use. Tips & Warnings
A common problem with the trackball in the BlackBerry phones is a buildup of dust and debris in the compartment. While you have the original trackball out but before you have installed the replacement trackball, use an electronics duster to clean out any debris that might be a problem in the future.
Check your BlackBerry Pearl's warranty before you begin any work on it. Most mobile phone warranties prohibit repairs done by anyone other than a company-certified technician.
