How to Unblock Cookies on Microsoft Internet Explorer 8

Cookies are small text files sent by web pages you visit and saved by your browser. They contain personal information about you, such as login info and personal preferences. Unfortunately, some cookies also track your web-surfing activity and report the info back to developers. If you block cookies, however, some web content is not available for viewing. You can unblock, or enable, cookies in Microsoft Internet Explorer 8 with just a few mouse clicks.

Instructions

1. Open Internet Explorer 8 and click the "Tools" menu option.

2. Select "Internet Options" and click the "Privacy" tab.

3. Move the slider under "Settings" to the highest position next to "Accept All Cookies" (or set a desired level).

4. Click "Apply" and then "OK" to save the new settings.

Tips & Warnings

• Click on "Advanced" next to the slider to override automatic cookie handling and set your preferences for first-party and third-party cookies.
