How to Watch Videos on a BlackBerry Curve

The BlackBerry Curve is truly a multimedia device and can play video files.

BlackBerry devices are usually popular with their owners because of their noted messaging capabilities, but many also appreciate the multimedia functions of PDAs like the BlackBerry Curve. The Curve plays music files, displays images and even plays certain types of video files. If you own a Curve and want to take advantage of this feature, learn how.

Instructions

1. Watch video files on your Blackberry Curve by making sure they are the right format before you copy them to your device. BlackBerry recommends the MP4 file format for playback on the device; it also supports M4A, MOV and 3GP files.

2. Connect your Curve to your computer with the USB cord that came with it when you bought it. Wait for your computer to recognize that the Curve is connected.

3. Locate the video file you wish to watch on your computer, and then use your mouse to drag and drop the file onto your BlackBerry Curve.

4. Disconnect the Curve from the USB cord, then navigate to the file on your Curve and click on it to play.

5. Watch streaming video from the Internet by visiting one of the websites designed for viewing video on mobile devices. The Curve cannot play streaming video by going directly to a site like YouTube, but it can when visiting sites such as Vuclip and Tiny Tube.
