The Internet Explorer Web browser lets you view websites, view streaming video, listen to streaming audio and download files. If you are working while using the Internet or you simply want to view more than one thing at a time in Internet Explorer, you can open several different windows. Going back and forth between these open windows can get annoying and tedious. Instead, you can have numerous tabs opened in one Internet Explorer window, saving you time as you browse the Internet.

Instructions

  1. Method 1

    • 1

      Open an Internet Explorer window.

    • 2

Click on "File" found at the top of the Internet Explorer window and a drop-down menu will appear.

    • 3

Choose "New Tab." A tab will automatically be added to the Internet Explorer window.

    Method 2

    • 4

      Open an Internet Explorer window.

    • 5

Locate the tab in the top left part of the Internet Explorer window. A small square will be located on the right side of that tab.

    • 6

Click on the square on the right portion of the tab. Another tab will automatically open in Internet Explorer.
