How to Draw Funny Pumpkin Faces

Draw a pumpkin on a sheet of paper. Pumpkins aren't difficult to draw. Start at the bottom and begin drawing a circle, bringing the line slightly down as you reach the top of the drawing, then up again as you finish the circle. This creates a little indent for you to draw the stem for your pumpkin.

Sketch a face on paper to get an idea what you want to draw before you begin work on an actual pumpkin. Use a pencil for this sketch. Try various combinations of cartoon-like elements. Consider combining geometrical shapes, such as ovals, triangles and squares, to achieve a funny appearance.

Draw two eyes on your pumpkin. You're going for a funny look, so draw the eyes large and make the pupils go in different directions. Make big nostrils for the nose. For the mouth, draw a crooked smile and sketch the tongue hanging from one corner of the mouth. Aim for a cartoon look and be creative. Don't try to draw perfectly. The object is to create something that will make others laugh.

Add elements of humor to your funny face once you've drawn the basic cartoon facial features. Draw a pair of glasses over your pumpkin's eyes. Sketch a band aid around one of the earpieces. You could make one of the lenses cracked for a funny effect. Sketch a few tufts of hair on your pumpkin's head, with the individual hair going every which way. You could also make the eyes different shapes.

Transfer your idea to an actual pumpkin. Use a black marker to draw the same features you drew on paper. If you're using a stencil, hold the stencil up to your pumpkin and trace around the inside edge of your stencil.
