Order a Birth Certificate From a Deceased Father in Arkansas

Arkansas law does permit those related to the deceased the right to order their birth certificate. If you are a child or wife of a deceased father who was born in Arkansas, you may request a birth certificate of that person online, in person, by phone or by mail. Birth records cost at least $12 for the first copy, and $10 for each additional copy. Birth certificates ordered online will cost more.

      Download a "Birth Certificate Application" and complete it. The application will ask for the relationship and phone number of the person requesting the deceased father's birth certificate.

      Mail the application plus a check or money order for $12 to:

      Records will take four to six weeks for delivery.

      Order a birth certificate for a deceased father by calling: 1-888-803-1118 or 1-866-209-9482. You will be required to pay the $12 fee on a credit card when ordering by phone. You will be asked by an operator what your relationship is to the deceased named on the birth record. Birth certificates ordered by phone usually take about two weeks for you to receive it.

      Receive the birth certificate immediately by walking into the Arkansas Department of Health and ordering the certificate in person from 8 to 4 PM, Monday through Friday at:

      You will be asked what your relationship is to the person named on the certificate, and will be required to show your ID if ordering the certificate in person.

      Order the birth certificate online at: Vitalchek.com or ExpressVitalRecords.com. When ordering online, you will have to submit your name and your relationship to the person on the birth certificate. As well as, if that person named is deceased. You will also be required to enter the city where he was born, and the name of his mother and father. The fee is $17.50 to order online from either website. These certificates will usually take about seven to 10 days to receive, unless expedited. Expedited service costs $26.
