How to Increase the Time on an iPhone For Sleep Mode

When left idle for a set period of time, the iPhone's screen locks and the device enters sleep mode to conserve battery power. The feature, called Auto-Lock, include a few customization options to help set the length of time it takes for the iPhone to enter sleep mode. For instance, you can set the device to automatically lock when idle after as little as 1 minute or as long as five minutes. You can also disable the feature.

Step 1

Tap "Settings" on your iPhone's Home screen to open a new menu.

Step 2

Select "General" to see more options.

Step 3

Select "Auto-Lock" to view new options.

Step 4

Tap the the length of time you'd like your iPhone to wait to go in to sleep mode. You can select one to five minute intervals, or never.

Step 5

Press the "Home" button to save your settings and exit to the Home screen.
