How Do I Sell an Old Console TV on Craigslist?
Console televisions were popular appliances in the 1960s. Although many consoles featured only a television, some console television models also included a phonograph and radio. You may think an old console television is worthless compared to today's high-definition flat-screen televisions, but many people are still interested in console televisions due to the cabinetry and the retro style. Some uses even convert console televisions to "live" TV by removing the television and replacing it with an aquarium. If you're ready to part with your old console television, sell it with the free advertising service Craigslist.
Instructions

1
Clean and polish the console television. Note whether the television and any components are still in working order.
-
2
Take a picture of the console television using a digital camera. Clean out any personal items near the television before taking the picture, as you want to show the console as clearly as possible. Upload the picture to your computer.

-
3
Go to the Craigslist home page for your location. Craigslist is divided into states and major cities. Set up a free account.
-
4
Select the appropriate category (for instance, "For sale") and enter posting information: Include everything that you know about the console television, including the year of manufacture and if the components work or not. You can decide if you want to set a high price and allow bargaining room or if you want to set a firm, non-negotiable price.
-
5
Add the picture of the console by selecting "Add/Edit Images" at the bottom of the page. Browse to find the picture and simply click on the picture to add it. When you have finished writing the post and uploading your picture, review your ad and submit it.
-
6
Reply to all inquiries immediately. If you don't, a prospective buyer may find other options.
-
7
Arrange to have someone with you when meeting with a buyer. Not only can your friend help you load the heavy console television, it is not wise to meet with strangers by yourself.
-
8
Accept cash only for the purchase. Don't negotiate on this, don't let them take the console TV and promise to bring you the cash back, and don't let them try to give you another item instead of cash. If you have agreed to a trade, make sure they bring the item when they come.
