How Do You Catch Feebas in the Pokemon Ruby Version?

Pokemon Ruby is the third game in the Pokemon gaming series. You take control of an aspiring Pokemon trainer in the land of Hoenn and travel across the six towns to beat their gym trainers. Along the way, you fight other aspiring trainers and the crime syndicates, Team Aqua and Team Magma, while catching and training wild Pokemon. Though some are quite common and can be caught easily, Feebas are rare. But with enough patience and persistence, you can acquire this water Pokemon for your arsenal of pocket monsters.

Instructions

    • 1

Head to Route 119. This area is located east of Mauville City, just past Route 118.

    • 2

Head to the water areas of Route 119. Equip the "Old Rod." The "Good Rod" and "Super Rod" will catch lots of Carvahna Pokemon but not a Feebas.

    • 3

Fish continually at each water tile in this route. There is a 75 percent chance that six of the 400 water tiles will contain a Feebas. Those six tile locations are randomized for each game.

    • 4

Use a "Dive Ball" once you encounter the Feebas to catch it. The "Dive Ball" works best against underwater Pokemon and is worth "1000 Poke" at the Mossdeep Pokemart. If the first ball does not succeed, simply attack Feebas to weaken it and try again until it is caught.

Tips & Warnings

  • You also can use the "Master Ball," which gives you a 100 percent catch rate. However, it is a rare item and can be found only at the Team Aqua/Magma hideout.
