How to Upgrade Office Open License 2003 to 2007
An open license is an option Microsoft offers to let small or mid-sized businesses, with up to 250 computers, buy Office and other products at a bulk-rate discount. If your company is still running Microsoft Office 2003 on an open license though, your software is out of date and may have trouble reading Office documents created with newer programs. Upgrading to Office 2007 is as easy as renewing your license. You will incur the standard fee for license renewal, which is dependent on how soon your license expires and how many computers you are running Office on, but the upgrade itself will be free.
Instructions

-
1
Go to Microsoft's Volume Licensing homepage.
-
2
Select your country and click "Go."
-
-
3
Follow the on-screen instructions to obtain a contact number for your country. For the United States website, this information and more is under the tab marked "Buy or Renew."
-
4
Call the number listed for your country. The United States number is (800) 426-9400. Because each open license is customized for the purchasing organization, you need to speak with a customer service representative to find out the specifics of upgrading your Office setup. If your license is due for renewal soon, it may be easiest to renew the license and get the upgrade that way. If it is not, they will likely simply provide you with the software at little to no charge.
