How to Make Kids' Hair Bows
Hair bows from the store can be attractive, but they're also expensive. Fortunately, it's simple to build attractive and useful hair bows at home. As a craft project, they're easy for children to make and require a minimum of adult supervision. Once your children understand the process, they'll be able to make as many hair bows as they want to and will have their very own fashion accessories to wear as they like.

1
Open the hair clip and place the end of the ribbon inside of it, where the top part and the jaw of the clip meet. Close the clip and wrap it with the ribbon around the top until it is completely covered. Trail off a little extra ribbon to give yourself some room to work, and then cut off the piece. Measure the length of the piece so you know how much the ribbon to cut for the rest of the clips.

2
Glue the edge of the ribbon underneath the top part of the clip, with the clip held open. Wrap the ribbon around and glue down the other side. Continue doing this all the way down the hair clip. Use only small amounts of glue so the glue doesn't bleed through the ribbon, and be sure to glue where the ribbon wraps around to completely secure it. Trim off any excess ribbon. Leave the clip aside for a few hours for the glue to dry.

Tie a careful bow in another length of ribbon and secure the knot with a little bit of glue. Glue the bottom of the bow to the clip, and hold it firmly for a few moments. Leave the bow to dry for a few hours. Once it has dried, check the bow and ribbon carefully for any loose spots and glue them securely.

Tips & Warnings
For children with thin hair, glue foam underneath the top of the clip to better secure it to their hair.
