How to Find Really Cheap Furniture

Furniture costs can add up, especially when you have many rooms to fill. Save money and find bargains by shopping sales and buying used merchandise. With a little legwork and comparison shopping, your home will be beautifully furnished without depleting your bank account.

1. Comparison shop at many furniture or online stores. You may find the same item is cheaper at one store. Or you may see a less-expensive but similar piece online. If a store offers delivery, negotiate for the furniture to be delivered free of charge.

2. Look on Craigslist or other online sites for budget used furniture. You can find just about any piece of furniture for sale online, and often for less than you will find at stores.

3. Check out thrift and second-hand stores. They usually offer fantastic deals on all kinds of furniture, including vintage furniture. Take time to inspect the furniture for wear and tear; a chair that collapses when you get it home is not worth any price you paid.

4. Ask friends and family members whether they have any extra furniture tucked away in a storage unit or garage that they don't need. An aunt, uncle or grandparent may have a piece or two that they'd love to share with a family member.
