How to Find NYS Unclaimed Funds

Millions of dollars are currently being held by NYS State Comptroller's office. Search and find out if you have an NYS unclaimed funds.

Instructions

1. Visit the website of the New York State office of the State Comptroller. This website has a form that you can utilize to search NYS for unclaimed funds. The office of the state comptroller will usually hold any funds that it finds. When banks, investment firms, etc... deactivate accounts, the State Comptroller's office will hold the funds until they are claimed.

2. Enter your last name, first name, middle initial and a city of residence. Conduct the search and see if your match any results. If a match is found, you will be given instructions on how to claim your unclaimed funds.

3. Download the necessary applications and forms. Ensure that you fill them out completely and with accurate information to prevent any delays in the processing of your application. Be prepared to prove your identity during the claim process.
