Instructions

    • 1

Tie twine around a grouping of upright corn stalks and your front porch post or a light pole in your yard, as suggested by Thanksgiving World.

    • 2

Soak a couple of corn stalks in room-temperature water for about half an hour to make them pliable. Drain them well, and bend them into a circular shape. Attach twine or florist wires to hold the shape. Decorate your new corn-stalk wreath with small gourds, autumn leaves and miniature Indian corn after it is completely dry.

    • 3

Fill a bushel basket with hay and stack a few corn stalks in the middle, pressing the hay firmly so that the stalks will not lean. On top of the full basket, add colorful autumn leaves, a few colorful gourds or pumpkins. Twine a string of white Christmas lights around your corn stalks, place the basket near an outdoor electrical outlet, and plug it in.

    • 4

Stack hay bales in your front yard, and place a few upright corn stalks at one corner. Sharpen a yardstick or a stake, and press it into the soil against the stalks. Tie the stalks on the post with twine or florist wire.
