How to Restore Vista OS

Microsoft Vista is an operating system that can be used on PC desktops and laptop computers. Vista follows Windows XP and offers a variety of system tools and programs for your everyday use. The operating system also includes a feature for creating a restore point with the System Restore tool. Using this tool allows users to restore their settings to a previous time or back to when the operating system was first installed. It's best to use this tool if you don't want completely remove all of the files from your computer.

Instructions

1. Click on the "Start" button in Windows Vista and then click in the "Start Search" box. Type "system restore" in the box.

2. Click on the "System Restore" option from the "Programs" list. Type in your admistrator password and then click on the "Continue" button.

3. Click on the "Choose a different restore point" option from the "System Restore" dialog box. Click on the "Next" button.

4. Choose the restore point that you want to restore your computer to from the list. Click on the "Next" button.

5. Click on the "Finish" button. Your computer then will restart and your settings will be restored.
