How to Remove Hard Water Deposits on Sink Fixtures

Keep your sink fixtures spotless.

Hard water spots develop on sink fixtures when hard water droplets dry on the surface, leaving cloudy white spots that quickly dull the appearance of the fixtures. There is a very broad range of cleaning products that are designed to clean bathroom fixtures; however these items are often costly and unnecessary. Instead, grab a few items from your kitchen pantry and begin the spot removal procedure.

Things You'll Need

• Water
• Vinegar
• Lemon juice
• Spray bottle
• Cleaning cloth or sponge

Instructions

1. Fill a spray bottle with 1 cup water, 1/2 cup vinegar and 1/2 cup lemon juice. The vinegar and lemon juice are both acidic and will dissolve the spots almost on contact.

2. Spray the solution on the sink fixtures, and let it sit for 5 seconds.

3. Wipe clean with a soft cloth, buffing in small circles to remove the spots and restore shine to the fixtures.

4. Store with your bathroom cleaning supplies, and clean your sink fixtures with this cleaning solution during your regular cleaning routine or as water deposits develop.

Tips & Warnings

• Wipe the sink clean with a dry towel every day to wipe away deposits before they have the opportunity to dry and stain the fixtures.
