How to Make a Web Page Using Microsoft

Microsoft offers a number of software applications that are capable of creating web pages. At the most basic level, a web page can be created using Notepad. MS Word is also capable of creating web pages and offers a few menu options for correctly saving your document in a format recognized by web browsers. Ultimately, MS FrontPage is the best option for creating a web page with Microsoft products.

Instructions

1. Create a web page with Notepad. Notepad is a basic text editor offered as part of the MS Windows operating system. Write your HTML code to format your text and images in order to create your web page. Save the file with a .htm extension. This method requires you to understand HTML very well because Notepad cannot show you how your web page will look during the coding process.

2. Create a web page using MS Word. Write your web copy and format the elements of your page. Add color and images to make your page look how you want it. Once you're satisfied, click the 'File' menu and click 'Save As'. A dialog box will open. Give your web page a name and select the web page option from the 'File Type' menu. Click save. Your document will be saved in web page format.

3. Create a web page with MS FrontPage. FrontPage is an application designed to create web pages. It offers a graphical user interface that greatly simplifies the process of formatting your web pages. You can add a wide variety of formatting elements to your text including color, font, type size and placement on the page. You can add images and links in any page layout you wish. FrontPage also has a code view function which allows you to directly manipulate the HTML code produced by the program.
