The 40th birthday is one of the great milestones in a person's life. This age is when most people start to truly feel comfortable with themselves and begin to know who they really are. Unlike the twenties when people don't have a clue of who they are (but think they do) or the thirties when people start to search for who they are, forties is usually when a person has made that great self discovery. A money tree is the perfect gift to give as a celebration of the coming of age for the confident 40 year old. If you have decided on giving a money tree for someone's 40th birthday but don't know how to make one, here is a great way to do it.

1. Purchase Tree

   If you don't already have some type of tree or plant you can use, then you need to go out and buy one. You can use a real tree or plant or a fake one. They both work well for the purposes of a money tree. Sometimes a real one is nice because it allows you to give a double gift of money and a plant the recipient can use later.

2. Get Clothes Pins

   Once you've gotten the tree that you want to use, you need to decide on what you're going to use to attach the money to the tree with. An easy way to do this is to use clothes pins. Clothes pins come in different sizes so if you're using a small plant for your money tree you shouldn't have a problem finding miniature clothes pins that won't overwhelm it. To add a little extra bling and color to your tree, you could spray your clothes pins with glitter or paint them.

3. Pin Dollars On The Tree

   Now that you have your clothes pins, it's time to start filling the tree with money. Pin dollar bills on the leaves starting at the bottom of the tree. Feel free to pin whatever denominations on the tree that you want. A way to get a nice effect is to start at the bottom with the smaller bills and put the bigger ones at the top of the tree. Fill out the tree as much as possible in order to make it nice and full. To top off your money tree, tie a nice bow around the stem or bottom of the tree. Once you've done this your money tree is ready to be delivered. This will definitely be a 40th birthday the recipient won't forget all because of your money tree.
