How to Replace a Fog Light on a 2005 Subaru Impreza
Fog lights on a 2005 Subaru Impreza allow you to see easier during foggy weather. They also improve your visibility during other stormy weather when driving conditions are difficult. Fog lights cut through fog to help your vision. It is important to replace broken fog lights as soon as you notice that they are damaged because you never know when bad weather will strike.

1
Lift the front of the Subaru using a jack. Rest the car on jack stands. This will give you easy access to the fog lights. You can still replace the light without jacking up the car, but this will make it easier for you.
-
2
Lie on your back so that your head is under the front of the car. Remove the two screws that hold the bulb in place.
-
-
3
Clip the two wires running to the bulb using wire cutters. Make the snips as close to the bulb as possible so you'll still have an abundance of wire to work with.
-
4
Using a rubber mallet, bang the outer-side of the bulb gently until the light comes out.
-
5
Place the new light in the fog-light holder on the bottom fender. This is the same place that you removed the light from in Step 3.
-
6
Replace the screws that you removed from the old light in Step 2.
-
7
Reattach the wires from Step 3. They should clip right into the wire holders without the need to use a tool.
-
8
Remove the jack stands and lower the front of the Subaru.
