Refill Instructions for HP 15 Inkjet Cartridges

Refilling your HP 15 cartridges can save you money

Whether you use your printer for home or business, the cost of replacement ink can be a big concern. In many cases printer owners find that the cost of a single set of replacement cartridges is more than the printer cost in the first place. With ink costs so high, it is important for those printer owners to economize wherever they can. For instance, if your HP printer uses number 15 cartridges, you can save a great deal of money by refilling your own empty cartridges instead of buying new ones.

Things You'll Need

• Refill kit
• Paper towels
• Print cartridge
• Needle

Instructions

1. Purchase a refill kit that is compatible with the HP 15 print cartridge. Remove the syringe from the package and fill it with black ink. It is a good idea to stand over a sink, or to put some paper towels down in case you spill any ink. If you do spill any ink be sure to wipe it up right away, since it will stain if allowed to set.

2. Remove the empty HP 15 cartridge from the printer and set it on a table or desk. Locate the small breather hole near the label on the top of the cartidge and use a small needle to widen it slightly.

3. Insert the syringe into the hole and push it down until you feel it against the bottom of the cartridge. Slowly push the plunger down and add ink to the cartridge from the bottom up. This will prevent air bubbles from forming.

4. Continue to fill the HP 15 cartridge from the bottom up. Fill the cartridge slowly--you do not want to overfill. When the cartridge is full, remove the syringe and set it on a paper towel.

5. Wipe the refilled cartridge thoroughly to remove any excess ink, then put it back in the printer and print a test page. Make sure the test page prints properly.
