How Do I Transfer Songs From Limewire to a CD?

Limewire is a file sharing program.

Limewire is a peer-to-peer file sharing software program which allows you to log on and download files from another user. Most of the files that people share on Limewire are media files, including music files. When you download songs from Limewire, they are saved to a folder on your computer. You can take those songs and burn them onto a CD using built-in utilities that are installed on your operating system.

Instructions

1. Find the folder where your songs are saved. To do this, launch Limewire and click "Tools" and then "Options." From the "Options" menu, click the "Downloads" tab. The very first line displays the location of your saved downloads.

2. Launch Windows Media Player. This is an application that comes pre-installed with your operating system.

3. Add the Limewire folder to your Windows Media Player library. Click "Library" and then "Add to Library." From here, select "My Personal Folders." Select the Limewire downloads folder and the songs you downloaded from Limewire are added to the Windows Media Player library.

4. Click the "Burn" tab in Windows Media Player. Then click "Burn Options" and select a burn option. You can choose from "Data CD or DVD" or "Audio CD." Burning a data CD allows you to keep the original file format of the songs and will be able to hold more songs than an audio CD, but you won't be able to play it on most traditional CD players. Burning an audio CD converts the songs to CD audio files that can be played on any CD player, but only allows for 80 minutes of music.

5. Insert a blank CD into the CD-ROM drive of your computer.

6. Find the songs from your Limewire folder in the "Details Pane" of Windows Media Player. This is the center pane. Once you find a song or songs you want to burn to the CD, drag the songs to the "Burn List," which is the right-most pane in Windows Media Player.

7. Rearrange the order of the songs if they are not in the order you want. To do this, simply drag a song up or down in the list.

8. Click the "Start Burn" button. The songs from Limewire will be burned to your CD.
