How to Get Pen Ink Out of a Drying Machine
If you left an ink pen in your clothes pocket and placed the clothing in the dryer, it is likely that the ink is not only on your clothes but the inside of your dryer as well. Pen ink in a dryer can lead to stains on future loads of laundry. Removing pen ink from a dryer promptly is easier than trying to remove the ink once the dryer has been run multiple times. Does this Spark an idea?
Instructions

1
Moisten a clean rag with an all-purpose cleaner, such as Fantastic or 409.
-
2
Wipe down the ink-stained areas of the dryer with the rag. Do not spray the cleaner directly into the dryer. Apply more cleaner to a clean part of the rag as one part becomes soiled. The all-purpose cleaner will lighten the ink stains significantly but may not remove all of the ink.

-
3
Dampen another rag with rubbing alcohol. Scrub the ink stain with the rag.
-
4
Wipe out the dryer with a fresh rag and soapy water. Follow up by rinsing out the dryer with a rag and plain water. Dry the inside of the dryer with a dry rag.
-
5
Use chlorine bleach if the ink stain persists. Fill a bucket with equal parts chlorine bleach and water. Place an old, white towel in the bucket and wring it out lightly. Place the towel into the clothes dryer.
-
6
Run the towel through the dryer on the "Fluff" setting. Let the dryer run with the towel inside for at least 20 minutes.
-
7
Place another old towel into the dryer once all of the ink has been removed. This towel should be dry. Run the dryer again on the "Fluff" setting for at least 20 minutes to soak up any bleach and/or ink that may be left in the dryer.

Tips & Warnings
Keep the dryer door open for several hours after cleaning. This will allow ample time for any fumes or residue from the cleaning solutions to dissipate.
Wear rubber gloves and old clothing that covers your arms when working with chlorine bleach.
Open the windows in the room for ventilation when using chlorine bleach.
Never mix bleach and ammonia or products containing these ingredients. The results can be toxic.
