How to Make a Folder for Pokemon Cards

So you finally did it; you actually caught them all. The fruit of your endeavor is a box of Pokemon cards featuring every monster from Pikachu to Dark Scizor. Rather than keeping your cards tucked away in a box, organize them into your own Pokemon card folder. This folder will keep track of your collection while also featuring a personalized look so you can show off how great of a Pokemon trainer you've become.

Instructions

    • 1

Organize your cards into their three card types: Pokemon cards, Trainer cards, and Energy cards. Further catalog the cards by arranging them by element, card number or the order in which they appear in the Pokedex.

    • 2

Cut out images of Pokemon you find online, from magazines or from old cards that might otherwise be damaged. Use images of your favorite Pokemon or characters from the series.

    • 3

Affix the images onto the dividers of the folder. Use one divider for each card type for a total of three dividers. If you wish to separate the cards further, customize more dividers.

    • 4

Label each divider. You can choose to write the name of the divider on the tab or use paint or markers to label the divider itself. For example, the Trainer cards divider may have images of Ash, Brock and Team Rocket surrounding the word “Trainer.”

    • 5

Decorate the front and back of the folder or binder with additional images and stickers. Use the inside cover of the folder to list the Pokemon games you own or the badges you've won. Keep a list of upcoming tournaments tucked into the pocket.

    • 6

Insert the dividers into the folder. Between each divider, insert several card pages. Each card page features nine slots that can be filled on both sides for a total of 18 cards per page. Remember this when deciding how many pages you need for the folder.

    • 7

Place your Pokemon cards into the card pages. Leave empty slots for cards you may be missing so you can easily fill them in later without having to re-sort the entire folder.

Tips & Warnings

  • Make multiple folders for the different Pokemon expansion sets. For example, you can have one folder that has cards from the Diamond and Pearl set and one for the Platinum set.
