Create an online certificate to reward a job well done.

Creating and handing out certificates is a good way to acknowledge the accomplishments of family members, employees, students or anyone for whom you want to bestow a "job well done" certificate. While you can use a word processing or graphics program to create a certificate, this can be complicated and confusing if you are not familiar with the software. An alternative to using a software program to create a certificate is to create a certificate online.

Instructions

    • 1

Locate a free or paid subscription online certificate maker. Look for a site that offers a variety of certificate types, font choices and certificate decoration options. In addition, look for an option to download the certificate to your home computer if you want to save it as a template. Example sites include PrintableCertificateMaker.com, CertificateCreator.com and GoCertificate.com (see References).

    • 2

Create a user account if the site requires this prior to creating the certificate. If the site is a paid subscription type, complete payment requirements and log into your account.

    • 3

Choose a certificate category, such as School or Business, and select a certificate template from the category you chose. If the site provides options for customizing color and border styles, make your selections from available choices.

    • 4

Enter certificate text, such as the title, recipient's name, achievement, your name and the date of presentation. If the site allows for changing font style, look through available styles for one that suits your purpose. Do not enter text in areas you want to enter after printing.

    • 5

Save the certificate to your home computer for printing later, or print directly from the website.

Tips & Warnings

  • Options available for creating and printing certificates will be greater on paid subscription websites.

  • To make your certificate look even better, consider using certificate printer paper.
