How to Program a GE Universal Remote for Viewsat

Programming your GE is an easy process.

GE, or General Electric, is a company that produces a variety of electronic devices and home appliances. One product they produce, which they are not well-known for, is a universal remote. This is a remote control that you can program to control various electronic devices. The GE universal remote can be programmed relatively easily to control Viewsat video and audio receivers.

Instructions

1. Turn on the Viewsat receiver using the original Viewsat remote control or by pressing the power button on the device.

2. Press and hold the "Code Search/Setup" button on the remote. Hold the button down until the "Indicator Light" remains lit.

3. Press and release the "AUX" button on the remote control.

4. Enter the numbers "1037" using the keypad on the GE Universal remote. This is the device code for all products manufactured by Viewsat. After you've entered the code, the "Indicator Light" on the remote turns off.

5. Aim the remote at your Viewsat receiver and press the "Power" button. The Viewsat receiver turns off and you have successfully programmed the remote.
