Instructions

    • 1

Measure for the length of the veil by placing the tape measure where the veil will start on your head and extending it to where you want it to fall on your body or on the floor. For example, if you want a shoulder length veil, start the measuring tape where the veil will start on your head down to your shoulders. This allows you to determine the length of the tulle you need to buy.

    • 2

Cut the tulle. Lay out the tulle on a flat surface; measure and cut the tulle so that it's 54 inches wide, which is half of the standard 108-inch tulle you bought.

    • 3

Add trim. Fold over the edge of the right side of the tulle and use your needle and thread to attach the ½-inch silk cording down the length of the veil. Repeat on the left and bottom side of the veil. You won't need to add the cording to the top part of the veil because this is where the veil attaches to the hair comb.

    • 4

Attach the veil to the hair comb. Sew by hand the center of the top edge of the veil onto the hair comb by looping the threaded needle through the tulle fabric, wrapping the thread around the comb and back through the tulle again. Bunch the top of the veil on each side of the center and sew the entire top portion of the veil so that it covers the edge of the hair comb.

    • 5

Decorate the bridal comb. To cover the sewing and to add embellishment to the hair comb, sew the cording with the decorative crystals onto the tulle across the top of the comb.

Tips & Warnings

  • The length of the veil you choose not only determines how much tulle you need, but also determines how much satin cording you need for the trim.
