How to Make Slides to Digital

Slides can be made digital for easier viewing.

Taking pictures as slides means that you can share your pictures with friends and family, as long as you have a slide projector. However, slide projectors are cumbersome, and if you have a lot of people to share with, it can take a while for them to see them all. Instead of using a slide projector, then, you can use digital versions of your slides, so that the pictures are an email or a click away for everyone to see.

Things You'll Need

• Film scanner
• Computer

Instructions

1. Insert the installation CD that comes with the film scanner. Follow the on-screen instructions to install the software for the scanner.

2. Connect the scanner, when prompted, to your PC using a USB cable.

3. Place the slides in the scanner. If your scanner requires a slide adapter, place the slides in the adapter, then place the adapter in the scanner.

4. Open the software that came with your Film Scanner and create a new scan.

5. Follow the on-screen instructions to scan your slides into digital files.

Tips & Warnings

• If given a choice, save the files as JPEG format.
