How to Get Blood Stains Out of Clothing

Time is of the essence when it comes to removing blood stains from clothing. The longer the stain sits, the more likely it will set, meaning that it cannot be removed. Common household products remove blood stains. Avoid drying the clothing until the stain is completely gone; heat will set it, making it impossible to remove.

Instructions

1. Soak the blood-stained clothing in cold water. Do not use warm or hot water, as it will set the stain into your clothes.

2. Apply a small amount of hand soap to the blood stain, then rinse the area with cold water.

3. Take a cotton ball soaked with hydrogen peroxide and rub the blood-stained area until the stain disappears.

4. Wash your clothing in the washer with cold water. Check that the stain is completely gone before drying.
