How to Wear a Horizontal Cross Shoulder Holster
Horizontal cross shoulder holsters allow you to carry a handgun with the muzzle pointing directly behind you. These holsters are supported with straps that intersect in the center of the wearer's back and evenly disburse the weight of a handgun and two loaded magazines. Horizontal cross shoulder holsters provide easy weapon access and are generally comfortable to wear. When preparing a horizontal cross shoulder holster for your specific body type give special consideration to proper assembly and fitting.
Things You'll Need

- Scissors/razor blade
Instructions
-
Holster Assembly
-
1
Arrange the shoulder holster components on a flat surface as they would appear if viewed from behind the wearer. The straps should form an X with the manufacturer's name on the flexecon (center disc intersecting all the straps) right side up and facing you, if it is upside down then so are the straps.
-
2
Place the holster and the magazine carrier in their respective positions with their strap loops facing inward.
-
-
3
Insert the straps through the loops with the unfinished sides facing each other and the excess strap protruding from the side closest to your body. The holster is now ready for fitting.
Holster Fitting
-
4
Place your unloaded handgun into the holster and two loaded magazines into the magazine carrier. The magazines need to be loaded to compensate for the weight of the handgun.
-
5
Put on the holster with the flexecon high and centered on your back. You may find it helpful to have another person keep it in place.
-
6
Adjust the front and rear straps so that the handgun hangs level and approximately 3 to 4 inches below your armpit.
-
7
Repeat the same process for the magazine carrier.
-
8
Check the fit by placing the arm closest to the handgun straight down. The front of your arm should be approximately 2 inches away from the grip of the handgun.
-
9
Secure the straps by installing the screws with the nut side closest to your body (assuming that your model has screws; if not. simply ensure that the straps are secure).
-
10
Remove the excess strapping using scissors or a razor blade.
Drawing from a Shoulder Holster
-
11
Keep your shoulders squared (so as not to turn your body) and bring your shooting hand up to the weapon with your thumb prepared to disengage the thumb break.
-
12
Disengage the thumb break and grip your handgun.
-
13
Draw your handgun.

Tips & Warnings
You should be able to reach and draw your weapon in one fluid motion. If you find this procedure awkward, practice with an unloaded handgun until it feels natural.
Always verify that your handgun is unloaded while adjusting the shoulder holster or while practicing drawing your weapon.
