Lexmark X5070 ink cartridge refill

The Lexmark X5070 printer uses the #34 black ink cartridges and the #35 color ink cartridge. The refill kits will allow you to refill the ink cartridges instead of buying a pre-filled cartridge. For the refillable cartridges, it will take about 15 minutes or less to fill and save you money. The refill kits are good for up to ten refills.

Instructions

    • 1

Place the ink cartridge on newspaper. Remove the label from the top of the cartridge. The black ink fill hole is at the top of the ink cartridge. The color ink cartridge will have a fill hole for magenta on the top center, a filler hole for the yellow on the bottom left side and a filler hole for the cyan on the bottom right side.

    • 2

Open the refill kit. Take out the supplies, which will be one syringe, one bottle of black ink and one thumb drill for the black refill kit. The color refill kit will have three syringes, one bottle of cyan color, magenta color and yellow color, and a thumb drill.

    • 3

Use the thumb drill to open up the fill holes. The holes are smaller than the needle and need to be enlarged before inserting the needle. Press down on the thumb drill while on the fill hole and twist back and forth until the hole is opened larger to fit the needle.

    • 4

Insert the needle into the bottle of ink. Each color has a different syringe so you will not mix colors. Pull back on the piston to withdraw 7 milliliters of color ink for each color and 15 milliliters of black ink.

    • 5

Place the needle in the fill hole. Slowly push down on the piston to inject the ink into the cartridge. When doing the color cartridge, cover the two fill holes that you are not filling with tape or a finger so that no ink from another color can sweep into the hole if the ink spills or bubbles out of the fill hole that you are working on. If the ink starts to bubble out, stop. The cartridge may not be empty all the way and will not take all of the recommended ink allocation.

    • 6

Use the paper toweling to wipe up any excess ink. Run one to three test pages after placing the ink cartridge into the printer cartridge to cycle the ink before doing any print tasks.
