How to Make Togas for Women Out of Bed Sheets

How to Make Togas for Women Out of Bed Sheets thumbnail
Toga parties are fun for Halloween or any time.

Toga parties are popular on college campuses in the United States. The Greek theme and the feeling of wearing a comfortable toga are reason enough to throw a party. It is easy to make a simple woman's toga out of things you already have in your home. Togas are fun to wear on Halloween or at a costume party and your entire family can wear matching Roman outfits. To complete the look, you can add Greco-Roman-inspired jewelry, feminine flat sandals and a simple laurel wreath.

Things You'll Need

  • Two twin bed sheets (preferably white)
  • Large safety pins (at least three)
  • Gold or silver ribbon or belt (optional)

Instructions

    • 1

Hold the first sheet out horizontally against your body, as suggested by the Tie a Toga website.

    • 2

Wrap it around your waist until it is snug. Depending on your body's size, you may have to wrap it two times.

    • 3

Pin the sheet together at the waist so that it is snug and won't slide down when you walk.

    • 4

Take the second sheet and drape it over one of your shoulders.

    • 5

Pin it together at one side of the waist and underneath the armpit area.

    • 6

Add a decorative silver of gold sparkly ribbon or belt at the waist area.

Tips & Warnings

  • Women should wear a tank top, camisole or tube top underneath their toga to match the color of the sheet.
