Use an optical-sized Philips screwdriver to remove the four screws that hold the back of your Casio Phys watch in place. Set the screws aside and slowly remove the back of the watch.

    • 3

Look into the watch to locate three small, vertically-placed springs. Lift out the springs with a pair of small metal tweezers. Make a note of the placement and length of each spring.

Pull the black rubber cushion out of your Casio Phys watch. Remove the identically-shaped white plastic panel located underneath the black rubber cushion as well. Reserve these pieces for reassembly.

Short the "AC" and "-" terminals on your Casio Phys watch by touching the terminals with metal tweezers for at least two seconds. This is a very important step in the battery replacement process and must be completed in order for the watch to function properly.

Reverse the disassembly directions to reassemble your Casio Phys watch. Replace the white plastic panel and the black rubber cushion. Use tweezers to return the three watch springs to their proper positions. Replace the back of your Casio Phys watch and then insert and tighten the screws.

Tips & Warnings

  • Most Casio solar watch models use CTL1616 batteries that can be purchased from your local jewelry or retail store. Before purchasing a replacement watch battery, consult your watch's user manual to determine the specific type of battery it needs.

  • Casio recommends that their solar watch batteries be replaced by authorized Casio watch repair specialists. Changing the battery in your Casio Phys watch without the assistance of a professional may void its warranty.
