How to Create a Smoky Eye Shadow Look

Creating smoky eyes will give a dramatic and sexy look.

Smoky eyes are one of the sexiest ways that you can wear your eye shadow. Not for everyday wear, leave this look for a night on the town, your wedding, New Year's Eve, etc. You don't need to be a makeup artist or have expensive eye shadows to be able to do smoky eyes. All it takes is the right color and a little patience and you'll look stunning.

Things You'll Need

• Light gray eyeshadow
• Thin eyeshadow brush
• Light black eyeshadow
• Black eyeshadow
• Crease brush
• White shimmer eye shadow
• Black eyeliner
• Black mascara

Instructions

1. Apply a light gray eyeshadow to your entire eyelid. This color can be extended up, slightly, into the crease of your eye. Use the eyeshadow brush that came with the eyeshadow or your fingers for this step.

2. Use a thin eyeshadow brush to apply the light black to your eyes. This shadow should be applied from your lash line to your eye's crease. Use your finger to blend, or smudge, in the color.

3. Apply your black eyeshadow to the crease of your eye using a crease brush. Focus the crease brush on the outer corner of your eye. Again, use your finger to blend the color.

4. Dab your finger into your white shimmer eyeshadow. Lightly, brush your brow bone with your finger. You can also add a light dab of the white shimmer shadow to the inside corner of your eyes to brighten your eyes.

5. Add a thin line of black eyeliner to your upper lid close to the lashes. Smudge the liner slightly with your fingers. Then apply the liner to your inside rim of your lower eyelids. Do this carefully so you don't poke your eye.

6. Add a couple coats of a thick, black eye mascara to your upper and lower eyelashes to finish the look.
