Do some research and plan a few surprises...Whether it's your first trip together or your 50th wedding anniversary, a well-orchestrated romantic trip will not soon be forgotten.

Instructions

Difficulty: Moderately Easy

Things You’ll Need:

  • Evening Attire
  • Garment Bags
  • Lingerie
  • Luggage Sets
  • Swimsuits
  • Flowers
  • Scented Candle Set
  • Champagne
  • Bubble Baths
  • Travel Services
  • Duffel Bags

Step1
Consider your options for romantic destinations. Do you want to drive or fly? Do you want to create the mood in an urban setting like Paris, or a rugged place like Big Sur?
Step2
Research bed-and-breakfasts, small inns and private cabins or condos in your destination area, once you nail down a place.
Step3
Ask about special room features: large tubs, fireplaces, king-sized beds and patios with sweeping views.
Step4
Research idyllic beach walks, gentle mountain trails or picnic areas in the area you will be visiting.
Step5
Investigate cozy restaurants in and around your destination, and make a reservation for two.
Step6
Allow for plenty of relaxation time on your trip. If you are traveling for a weekend, but have a long drive, skip out early on Friday.
Step7
Arrange for special treats to greet you when you arrive. Champagne, chocolates and flowers are quintessential romantic treats.
Step8
Bring scented candles, bubble baths and incense to create an extravagant setting within your hotel room.

Tips & Warnings

  • For added mystique, plan a romantic trip as a surprise. Ask your significant other to pack a bag, and then blindfold him or her and lead the way!

on 11/22/2005 Draw some feet on paper & place them strategically on the floor leading your loved one to the bedroom. Include some signs - maybe something like, "Continue down the path to pleasure." Lastly, make sure the room has some romantic atmosphere.

on 11/22/2005 When staying at a hotel/inn, we bring our favorite crystal Champagne flutes and flower vase. Also, buy new lotions, oils and candles with matching scents (raspberry is our favorite). Bring Hershey kisses and mints to keep the kisses sweet and fresh.

on 11/22/2005 A simple getaway is often more romantic and spontaneous than an elaborate one. Don't worry about taking a plane anywhere - that often just adds stress. Instead, whisk your loved one away to a favorite nearby resort.
