The recycle bin in Windows XP allows you to recover items that you have mistakenly deleted. The recycle bin acts as a buffer so that if you want to retrieve a file after deleting it, you can find it easily. It takes a minute to restore a file in your recycle bin.

      Find your recycle bin icon on your computer. Double-click on the icon.

      View the files that are in your recycle bin when the window appears showing its contents.

      Left-[click and drag the file that you want to undelete on to your desktop. You can also right-click, scroll down and click "Restore." The file will be restored to its original location.
