Fleece

Use fleece to make a throw. Fleece holds in heat well and comes in various thicknesses. The thicker the fleece, the warmer it will be. You can use a sewing machine to make the throw or tie two pieces together. Both methods work well. Fleece comes in different patterns and colors. Use the same colors or mix and match. Cut the fleece to any size you want. Fleece is also machine washable.

Instructions

  1. Tie Fleece Blanket

    • 1

Cut two large square or rectangular pieces of fleece fabric. The pieces need to be the same size.

    • 2

Use the large straight pins to pin the two pieces of fabric together. Make sure the outside of the fabric pieces are facing outward. Pin the pieces 2 to 3 inches inward all the way around the fabric.

    • 3

Cut the edges of both squares, unpinned areas of the fabric into 1 inch strips all the way around the square or rectangle. It will look like fringe when you are done.

    • 4

Tie the top strips to the bottom strips with a knot. Continue till the entire blanket is tied together. Remove the pins.

    Sewing Machine

    • 5

Cut one or two large square or rectangular pieces of fleece fabric. If you use two, the pieces need to be the same size.

    • 6

Pin two pieces of fleece together, if necessary. Pin an inch into the cloth.

    • 7

Sew the pieces together. If you are only using one piece of fleece, sew around the edge to make a hem to prevent fraying.
