How to Make a Red Rose and Shasta Daisy Bouquet
Daisies and roses are both much-loved flowers and together they make a charming and elegant bouquet. Daisy is the symbol of purity and simplicity. Red roses symbolize passion and love, making them a perfect choice for a wedding. The white petals of the daisy and the deep red of the rose contrast beautifully and the shapes of the flowers compliment each other. With a few preparations, a daisy and red rose bouquet is fairly easy to construct.

1
Purchase or cut 12 long-stemmed red roses and 12 long-stemmed daisies for a medium-sized bouquet. If the flowers are purchased, cut an inch off the stem, at a 45-degree angle, and put the flowers immediately into a container with tepid water.
-
2
Remove all the leaves from the bottom two-thirds of each stem, and any damaged outer petals and thorns on the roses. Place each flower back in the water.

3
Select a rose and a daisy when you're ready to create your bouquet. Holding the stems in your hand, alternate the flowers around the center flowers, adding to your bouquet until you have a pleasing shape.
-
4
Wrap the stems tightly with floral tape, starting about four inches below the flower heads and stopping about four inches before the end of the stem.
-
5
Cut all the stems at an equal length, about eight inches long, with a sharp knife or shears to present a neat appearance.
-
6
Make sure the stems are dry. Pat with a paper towel if necessary. Tuck one end of the ribbon into the floral tape under the flower heads and begin wrapping the stems. Once you reach the bottom, wrap back up. Tuck the end of the ribbon under the wrapped ribbon and secure with a floral pin.
-
7
Tie a bow around the stems with the last section of ribbon.

Tips & Warnings
Store your bouquet in the refrigerator until you're ready to use.
If you're delayed between one step and the next, place your flowers in water until you're ready to begin again.
Increase the flowers for a larger bouquet but keep the ratio at half roses and half daisies.
