When you use a DSL modem to access the Internet you can typically connect multiple computers to the modem. This is true when you are using an AT&T DSL modem. The connection process is similar to hooking up a single computer, and the entire procedure only takes a few minutes of time, so there is no need to call AT&T to arrange for an installation technician.

      Plug the first Ethernet cable into the wall Ethernet port, then connect the other end of the cable into the "WAN" port on the AT&T DSL modem.

      Insert the second Ethernet cable into one of the numbered Internet ports on the back of the DSL modem. Connect the other end of the cable into the Ethernet port on the computer.

      Power on the computer and the AT&T modem. Look on the bottom of the modem to find its specific "HTTP" address. Launch the Internet browser on your computer and type this complete address in. You are now taken to the setup screen.

      Type in new username and password, then select that you are using the Internet connection at home and that two computers are connecting. Select "Save" to save the changes.

      Plug the third Ethernet cable into one of the numbered Internet ports on the DSL modem. Connect the other end of the cable into the "Ethernet" port on the second computer. You are now all set for both computers to access the Internet.
