Instructions

    • 1

Install the flooring as per a standard installation up to the point where you wish the direction of the flooring to turn.

    • 2

Run a chalk line into the area where the wood will run perpendicular, making the line close to the nearest wall and at a right angle to the already-installed flooring. This line will ensure that your turned flooring will run square to the previously installed area of flooring.

    • 3

Measure the new area from the chalk line to the wall where your second direction will begin, taking a measurement at three points along the wall before snapping a chalk line. This will be the starting line of the first row of turned flooring; it may be necessary to trim one or more planks to bring the wood to the wall as per a standard installation.

    • 4

Continue to install the turned floor until you reach the point where the new floor reaches the first installed flooring area.

    • 5

Insert the tongue end of each new plank into the exposed groove of the first section of installed flooring; continue to install the rest of the row as per standard installation.

    • 6

Repeat the previous step for each remaining row of the new section of floor, giving your floor a clean smooth transition at the point where the turn was made.
