How to Burn SRT & AVI Files With Nero

How to Burn SRT & AVI Files With Nero thumbnail
Burn your .avi and .srt files with Nero.

Nero is a popular disc imaging software that can perform a multitude of different tasks, but is best noted for its ability to burn video discs. The process is rather straightforward, though modern media has become increasingly accessible, meaning you may find yourself with both a video file and its accompanying subtitle file. In this situation, Nero is still a superb tool to use, as it supports subtitles out of the box and requires very little extra work to get subtitles paired to your video file.

Instructions

    • 1

      Open Nero Burning ROM.

    • 2

Open the drop down menu on the "New Compilation" window, and select "DVD." Select "DVD-Video" from the sources pane on the left hand side of the window.

    • 3

Click the "Label" tab and enter the name you want for your DVD in the "ISO 9660" dialogue box. Click "New" when ready.

    • 4

Double click "VIDEO_TS" from the left hand side of the Nero window.

    • 5

Select your .avi and .srt files from the file browser on the right hand side of the Nero window, and drag them into the "VIDEO_TS" folder. Make sure that both the .avi and .srt files share the exact same name, save for the file extension. For example, you could have "mymovie.avi" and "mymovie.srt."

Click the "Burn" icon in the Nero toolbar. From the "Burn Compilation" window, check the "Write" option and then click "Burn."
