Blocking a text message number takes about five minutes to accomplish.

If you are receiving your fair share and a bit more of annoying text messages from spammers or that ex-boyfriend or girlfriend, you can easily block them if you have Verizon phone and service. The company has set up a spam control and blocking feature that allows you to enter up to five numbers that you do not want to receive text messages from.

Instructions

    • 1

Open a browser and go to the VText Web page (see Resources).

    • 2

Type in your mobile number and password. If you do not have a password, go to the Registering for My Verizon Web page (see Resources). Hit the "Login" button.

    • 3

Click "Preferences" on the left column. Scroll down and click "Spam Controls."

    • 4

Hit the "Sign In Now" link.

    • 5

Click the "Call & Message Blocking" tab. In the fields, enter the number or numbers you want to block from sending you text messages. Click "Apply."

    • 6

      Click the "OK" button.
