How to Troubleshoot Camry Windshield Wipers

The windshield wipers on your Toyota Camry should be checked every six months to make sure that they are functioning normally. Replacement wipers can be purchased from most auto parts stores. Replacement wipers for the Camry are anywhere between 18 to 21 inches in length, depending on the model-year Camry you own. Before replacing anything, however, you should troubleshoot the wipers.

Instructions

    • 1

Check the wiper blades for any cracks or chipping. Any damage to the wipers indicates that they need to be replaced.

    • 2

Open the hood and check the windshield wiper fluid level. The reservoir tank is on the right side of the engine bay. The fluid level should be between the upper and lower marks on the outside of the translucent tank.

    • 3

Turn the wipers on. Listen for any strange noises. Any straining of the wipers indicates that the wiper motor needs to be replaced.
