How to Make an LED Shot Glass
Novelty is the hallmark of any memorable party. If your guests are talking about some aspect of the party for days afterward, it was a success.
For your next get-together, why not spice up the night with some glowing LED shot glasses? With a little preparation and some basic components, you can build shot glasses that illuminate the spirit of your guest's choice while they're drinking it, without having to introduce anything foreign into the drink itself.

Things You'll Need
- Clear shot glass with rimmed bottom
- 3-volt coin cell battery and holder
- 3-volt LED light
- Soldering iron
- Solder
- SPST switch
- Rubber cement

Flip the shot glass upside down to expose the rimmed underside. There should be at least a half-inch of space between the rim and the inner underside of the glass.

Insert the battery into its holder, and clip the negative wire from the LED light into the holder's negative terminal.

Solder the positive lead from the battery to the "Off" position of the switch, and the positive LED lead to the "On" position. Your light should now go on when you flip the switch from "Off" to "On."

Place the battery and the LED light flat against the underside of the shot glass, while holding the switch above the rim. Pour a thin layer of rubber cement into the rimmed underside until the light and the battery are completely covered.

Sink the switch into the rubber cement until the switch can be thrown while remaining below the rim's edge. Allow several hours for the glue to dry, then flip on the light and pour a drink.
